Our classic Volkswagen never came with a radio from the factory, it was an extra option that could be
delivered and installed by the VW dealer.
Most Volkswagens left the showroom without a radio, it was cheaper to have it installed by a specialist radio installation service,
where there was a wider choice of different brands of radio.
The antenna was not factory fitted either. Depending on the model, there was sometimes a hole for mounting an antenna,
which was then sealed with a rubber plug.
The antenna can also be used universally.
